The Chicago Academy of Dog Training was established in the fall of 2005 and now has a 7,000 square foot facility situated in Roscoe Village. Our philosophy is a simple one: to enrich the lives of both dog and owner through education and communication. We take a balanced approach to all aspects of training. We understand that all dogs’ and owners’ needs are not the same and thus, not every method works for every dog. All our trainers are certified canine training and behavior specialists who can help you achieve your individual goals.
Courtney Bio:
Since early childhood, my life has centered around animals. We always had several breeds of dogs and cats in our home and were always willing to take in any type of stray to foster. I started my adult life as a graphic designer with Leo Burnetts Capps Digital, but fostering and working with rescues was my first love. I received so much satisfaction helping foster dogs overcome their behavioral issues that I realized my first love and talent should become my career. With that in mind, I quit art design and have been employed in the canine field ever since. I am a graduate of Triple Crown Dog Academy of Austin, Texas, with a specialized certification as a canine training and behavior specialist.
I currently reside with my 2 dogs Mishu, a 6 year old Shiba Inu, and Asta, a 3 year old German Shepherd. Mishu is a rescue dog and has become an agility maven and trick superstar. Asta is trained in obedience, agility, protection and protection sport. She has also competed and titled in Iron Dog competitions and is a member of the United Schutzhund Clubs of America.
